Red Standard Poodles
MORE THAN A SHOW DOG
Poodles are so much more than fluffy hairstyles, dog shows, and titles. Although they are known for these things, what many do not know is that they are incredible family pets and companions for just about any person. Because of their high-intelligence, they quickly adapt to the hierarchy and flow of the family. Standards were originally breed to be companions for duck hunters and assist in water retrieving (thus the shaved face look) which is why they are incredible swimmers and have great sportsmanship qualities. They are eager to please and are proud when they have accomplished what was expected of them.
There is a buzz in the poodle world that Red Standards have been known to possess more of the mild-temperament qualities than others. We have definitely witnessed that with both of our Red Standard Poodles as our male is our therapy dog, always at our side, and the other one is our sweetly balanced and quick to obey female.
Standard Poodles love to be with their family members yet are confident spending time on their own as well. They love to watch and observe their surroundings as well as the day-to-day tasks of their owners. They grow to enjoy the grooming process as it begins in the breeders home at the age of 5 weeks. They are incredible with kids and babies (we have 5) and they love both the country life and the city life as they are constantly taking in their surroundings.
